As part of our collaboration with Obradoiro C.A.B., we held the official presentation of Nacho Varela as the club's new first team player for next season at our offices in Santiago de Compostela. During the presentation, the player was accompanied by Héctor Galán, Obradoiro's General Manager, and Andrés Rodríguez, member of the Management Committee and Head of Balidea's Cybersecurity Department.
Nacho Varela Arroyo, born in Chile in 2000, is a point guard who comes to Obradoiro with a wealth of experience at First FEB, both in terms of individual statistics and collective success. Last season he won promotion with ICG Força Lleida.
Our colleague Andrés Rodríguez highlighted Balidea's support of the club and its youth team for more than seven years. "There is no doubt that we are Obra, and we know that many of our employees will be supporting the team from the stands every weekend. Nacho, from his position, will be a key player in fulfilling the main dream of the season,' he commented".
Héctor Galán emphasised the experience of Nacho Varela, despite his youth: "it's good to have players in the team who have already experienced the situation in other teams in the fight for promotion, with the pressure or the management that comes with it". Nacho's desire to make his debut on home soil has been reflected in the chemistry between his team-mates: "It is going to be a long and hard season, so the team needs to be united and work constantly".
Balidea and the Obradoiro, more than 7 years of collaboration
Balidea has been supporting Obradoiro in various ways for more than 7 years. As part of our commitment to supporting training sports, we lend our name to the club's male cadet team, Balidea Obradoiro, which surprises us year after year with its excellent results and has represented us in the Spanish Championship for many years.
On the other hand, we promote basketball and, through the Obradoiro Foundation, we support the social and sporting activities organised by the club for children and young people, with the aim of promoting competitive sport in Galicia.
Throughout our long association with the club, we have also contributed from a technological point of view, providing solutions to support training sessions and analyse games in real time.
At Balidea, we cannot help but feel a great sense of pride in being one of the sponsors of this team with which we share so many values. For this reason, we would like to reiterate our commitment and support to the club and wish them the best of luck in achieving their main objective for the new season: winning promotion to the Endesa League (spanish first division).
